More than 22 million people visit Phoenix every year and that’s because they know how much it has to offer. There’s sublime shopping in Scottsdale, party-town in Tempe, culture in downtown Phoenix and of course, a wide range of sport. Watch football and hockey in Glendale or catch major league baseball in Mesa. This city is definitely not for a fleeting visit so make a few days of it and see a multitude of exciting things.
Visit the Desert Botanical Garden for a wide range of exotic flora and fauna; while it’s in the desert, this garden is home to thousands of species from all around the world. Enjoy the region’s natural wonders and take in some bird-watching too, it’s a fascinating place.
Don’t miss out Camelback Mountain but take hiking boots; it’s quite a trek to the top although the views are decidedly magnificent. The mountain soars 2,704 feet high and provides a good place to see Phoenix and Scottsdale. There are other hikes that are less exhausting, like the Cholla Trail on the east side of Camelback still gives great views or avoid the strenuous activity and admire Phoenix from the sky, on-board one of our Bolt Jets.
Art lovers should head to the Phoenix Art Musuem which is the largest art museum in the Southwest with over 17,000 pieces. There’s even something for children with the Thorne Miniature Collection. Check out works of out from Henry Moore, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and more.
Sporty visitors should go to Chase Field and watch the Arizona Diamondbacks play especially at night when the stadium is under the stars. There’s a swimming pool on site to cool down when the temperature hits tropical.
Music fanatics should visit the Musical Instrument Museum which is around 20 miles north of Phoenix and features over 6,000 instruments from different places in the world. There’s concert footage, famous musicians’ concert clothing and a place where children can experiment making their own music with instruments. Another must-do is the Science Center which has an interactive display where visitors can learn about electricity, weather patterns, outer space and more. It also boasts an IMAX Theater to experience the full excitement of science.
Shopaholics will love the Biltmore Fashion Park for high-end shopping such as Sax Fifth Avenue but if a bargain cannot be resisted, head down to the outlets on Phoenix’s Westside. There’s a huge shopping complex called Tanger Outlets with over 80 different stores including Calvin Klein, Coach and Gap.
